New to Blogs and don't know where to start?

By: Mark Steeves

This Blog is way for us at TheWorxhub to have a conversation with you about our software, how you are using it, and new updates coming in the near future.  We will also post pictures, stories, and advice from the road as our Trainers crisscross the continent.  Who knows, you might end up immortalized in our Blogs.  As always, comments on the Blog posts are welcome, and we look forward to hearing from you directly.  In addition to Blog content, you can view other people's comments and even leave one of your own at the bottom of evey Blog post.

Our Blog feed address is: http://help.theworxhub.com/blog/rss

"How do I make sure I never miss your Blog?"

The most basic method is to come to our Blog site (http://help.theworxhub.com/blog) regularly and check for updates.  While there you can check out the rest of the site for more information and helpful instructions.

"That seems like a lot of work, I don't want to have to come back to the site"

Well, your other option is to read our Blog in your favorite RSS reader application.  Although very convenient to get the blogs delivered right to your computer or mobile device, it does mean that you'll miss out on all the other great content we have like the new How It Worx articles (help pages and videos) and the Community Discussion area on the full help.theworxhub.com website.  With RSS readers you can check for new Blog content without visiting the site.

"I don't have a favorite RSS reader application"

Well, luckily there are a number of good RSS readers that you can use for free.  Here's a list of some of the ones we use:

Google Reader

If you have a Google account you can use the excellent Google Reader web application to see all of your favorite sites in one place.  Simply log in with your Google account and click the Subscribe button.  Once you are logged in you can just paste in the Blog RSS feed address (http://help.theworxhub.com/blog/rss).

Mobile Devices

If you are using a mobile device running Apples iOS or Google's Android OS, you should check out an application called Pulse News by Alphonso Labs.

This is a great application that staff at TheWorxHub use to stay on top of their favorite site's blog feeds.  Find the application in your App Market and download the app.  Once installed you can open the settings and use the Manage Sources controls to add the Blog RSS feed address (http://help.theworxhub.com/blog/rss).

You will need to choose Add a New Source and then tap the Search Tab at the top. It will then ask you for the URL where you need to enter the Blog feed address. You can then scroll down the list until you find TheWorxHub Blog and choose it.

That's it!  Our Blog is now added to your Pulse News application. The application will periodically check our Blog feed for new posts and they will in turn automatically show up in the news reader. Simply tap on the Blog post to read the content on your mobile device.

Internet Explorer

Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Internet Explorer. Go to http://help.theworxhub.com/blog/rss in your browser. Click the Subscribe to this Feed button. Type a name for the feed and select the folder to create the feed in.  If you want the Blog feed to show up in your Favorites Bar at the top of the browser window simply put a check mark in the Add to Favorites Bar. Click the Subscribe button and you are done.

If you did not put the new Blog feed in your Favorites Bar, you can view your feeds in Internet Explorer by clicking the Favorites button, and then click Feeds

Firefox

Open Mozilla Firefox and go to http://help.theworxhub.com/blog/rss in the web browser.   Click the Subscribe Now button and give the feed a name if you do not like the default.  The new Blog feed should show up at the top of your browser window in the Live Bookmarks Toolbar.  If the Toolbar is not displayed, you can click the Bookmarks button and select the View Bookmark Toolbar.
